JAIL
The Jail has a staff of 30 Corrections Officers. This includes the Jail Administrator, a Corrections Lt. and 4 shift sergeants who are responsible for the safety and processing of the inmates. In addition, a food staff of 5 prepares 3 meals each day that the inmates (to include the Juvenile Center) receive.
Adults:
The Geary County Sheriff's Office operates the jail which houses all inmates in Geary County. The jail can house up to 82 inmates. This includes those subjects (both male and female) who are arrested by the Sheriff Deputies, Junction City Police Department, or the Grandview Plaza Police Department. In addition, the Sheriff's Office has a contract with the Ft. Riley Provost Marshal's Office and the Bureau of Prisions to house their detainees.
Juveniles:
Juveniles that are arrested and are to be confined are transported to the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center which is located one block east of the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office does not operate the Juvenile Center.
Visitation/Communication of Inmates:
Visiting days males are on Thursday and for females on Friday. Visitors can visit the inmate for 15 minutes and each inmate is allowed a total of 3 visitors for the day. Visitation time is from 1:00p.m. to 3:15p.m. In order to visit, the visitors name must be on a list that the inmate fills out prior to visitation time.
There are no phone calls allowed to come into the jail facility for the inmates. The inmates are allowed to purchase calling cards while in custody which allow them phone access.

Inmates can receive individual photographs, but no packages pictures or Polaroid photos. Inmates cannot receive any type of packages. Letters with no return address will not be given to the inmate.
